UF Cable
- Roll.
- Type UF and NMC cables have a broad usage range, as defined in Articles 336 and 339 of the National Electric Code, and may be used for both exposed and concealed work in wet, damp or corrosive locations in outside and inside walls; in masonry blocks and in tile.
- May be exposed to direct rays of the sun.
- Underground feeder and branch circuit may be used underground (including direct earth burial) provided it has overcurrent protection.
- Multi-conductor UF cable may be used for internal wiring when complying with the requirements of Article 336 of the NEC.
- Not intended for use as service entrance cables in commercial garages, in theaters or assembly halls, (except as provided in Article 520-4 in the NEC) in motion picture studios, in storage battery rooms, in hoistways, in any hazardous locations, embedded in poured cement, concrete or aggregate, except where recognized in Article 424 of the NEC.
